Barn Update

Last Thursday I bit the bullet and ordered gravel for off the stalls. We did 10 yards of ABC and 10 yards of screenings.  For a total weight over about 56,000 pounds.  Then we moved it - by hand.

We used the ABC to reduce the grade coming off the stalls and to create a pad at the gate.  We then covered everything with the screenings.  We used the leftover screenings on our new wash bay.

The horses were very interested in the whole process and very happy with the new footing.  Dutch has slept on the deepest spot every night, and was leaving his stall to stand out on the screenings.

The great news is that even though it was pouring rain this morning (and had been for a while) we have had little shifting or run off.  Hopefully the next few days of wet and dry with start compacting everything.
