First Day of Spring

So nay flowers are blooming!

Including the periwinkle.
So much of the year it looks like a weed, but I keep it because it is the 2nd thing to flower and covers the ground near our shed and chicken coop.

Free hennies are FREE!! This is a 9-year-old hen and a 1-year-old hen making their run for the flower beds!

Through the front screen door!

It was a work day today, so I got to leave work around 2:45!! This meant I had time to really enjoy the first day of Spring. I got to do all my favorite things: ride, play with my pups and hennies, sit in the sun, read a book.  Our local vet came out and all the boys got their rabies and the horses had their Coggins pulled.

Happy and listening ears!
Uno was pretty good on the trail ride, very forward, but the half halt was there and we had many moments of forward non-rushy trot. : )

Happy and Swinging!
A short talk with the local vet has us putting him on Robaxin for 10 days - the Pervicox did not really seem to make much change.  He would have good and bad days all the same, so I stopped it a week or so ago.  The Robaxin will take away all the muscle soreness, so then we can see if there is a correlation between different types of work and what makes him sore.  Either way, it gives us another data point to present to the specialist vet in April.

Happy hens free ranging in the front yard!

The plan is to trail ride (with a saddle this time) again today if the rain holds off. Either way, it has been a great start to the SPRING!!
