Catching Up with Dutch

The DUDE!!  Well our Spring Break Plans did not come to fruition.  As is pretty par for the course, he got new shoes and was sore.  We tested for hot nails, but think it is just that the timing of the shoeing coincided exactly with the shift from soft soggy rain soaked ground to baked pancake almost concrete.  It has not rained since Uno's vet visit, and the temps have been in the upper 80's.  So everything got pretty firm pretty fast.  He wears leather pads to try and prevent any bruising, but they are not 100% effective.
Happy evenings with my boys.
He has slowly gotten better throughout the week and I had a great dressage school this weekend and he lunged awesomely last night.
Tired pony is tired!
The (new) current plan is XC schooling this weekend to see what we remember together, then off to the Horsepark on the 12th for his first HT in 12 years!!!  Cue ugly sobbing.

He prefers doing this anyways!
I have no expectations for our scores or placings. The Horsepark unrecognized HTs are more busy than many of our local recognized events.  The place is huge: they run multiple dressage and show jumping rings AND multiple XC courses!  Historically the more Dutch has to look at the more his 'fruitbattness' comes out, so trying to do do any kind of dressage in the middle of 7 rings of horses all going at once will be an experience.

Dreamers can dream right?
